Join us as author Jeff Finegan talks about George Washington. Jeff is the author of the "I Knew George Washington" book series.

Jeff is a  collector of George Washington manuscripts as well as other important early American documents, He has gained a reputation as a noted speaker on the topic of the nation’s first president through his I Knew George Washington book series. Comprised of three titles; Colonel Washington and Me,  ‘Tis Well . . . The Life and Death of George Washington, and My Dear General – The Extraordinary Relationship between George Washington and the Marquis de Lafayette, the series covers the life of Washington and is told by historic figures who knew him well. Intended for a younger audience, the majority of readers are adults who enjoy the unique perspective from which the stories are told.

 Finegan is a 1982 graduate of Seton Hall University with a Bachelor of Arts in broadcast communication. His interest in history spans from the Norman Conquest of England to World War Two with a concentration in George Washington, the American Civil War and early architecture. He resides in the historic village of Finesville, New Jersey, with his wife, Kimberly Ollio Finegan, and has two sons, Jeffrey E. Jr., residing in Alexandria, VA and Peter J. Finegan, of Winter Park, FL.

 A member of the Washington Association of New Jersey and the American Friends of Lafayette, his fourth effort is currently being edited at Mount Vernon for historic accuracy and should be available in several months.

 Lectures and book signings include such important historic destinations as; Mount Vernon, Colonial Williamsburg, Valley Forge, Morristown National Historic Park, Washington Crossing, just to name a few.
